Meatball Sandwich Casserole Oven Recipe



Ingredients needed:

* 18 to 24 slices of baguette French bread (1/4 inch thick)
* 1/4 cup of olive or vegetable oil
* 1 bag of frozen cooked Italian-style or original flavor meatballs (32 meatballs), thawed
* 1 bag of frozen bell pepper and onion stir-fry, thawed, drained
* 1 1/2 cups of tomato pasta sauce
* 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation steps:

* Heat oven to 350 degrees. Brush 1 side of each bread slice with oil. Line bottom and side of ungreased 9 1/2-inch deep-dish glass pie plate with bread, oil sides up and slightly overlapping.
* Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Meanwhile, in large bowl, gently mix meatballs, vegetables and pasta sauce. Spoon mixture into crust.
* Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until hot in center. Sprinkle with cheese; bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
