French Toast With Pears Oven Recipe



Ingredients needed:

* 3 cups of thinly sliced, peeled pears
* 2 tablespoons of packed brown sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon of snipped fresh rosemary
* 2 tablespoons of butter
* 14 1/2-inch slices of French Bread
* 8 ounces of Brie Cheese, rind removed and thinly sliced
* 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
* 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
* 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
* 3 eggs lightly beaten
* 2 1/2 cups of milk
* 1 tablespoon of vanilla

Preparation Steps:

* Grease a 3 qt rectangular baking dish. In a large skillet cook pears, brown sugar, and rosemary in 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat for 5 minute. Place seven pieces of bread in a single layer in the prepared dish. Spoon pear mixture over bread; top with cheese. Place the remaining bread slices on top of the bottom bread slices. Brush bread with melted butter. In a bowl, combine eggs, vanilla, milk, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pour over bread. Cover; chill overnight.
* Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake, uncovered for 40 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes. If desired, serve with maple syrup and enjoy.
